Skiddaw house is a century old former shepherds & gamekeeper’s cottage situated 3 miles from the nearest road and is the highest Youth Hostel in Britain being 1550 feet above sea level.
However, when the YHA who now operate the House obtained a grant from the Carbon Trust to purchase a solar panel to generate hot water from a renewable energy source it was Ameon who were challenged with the task of the installation.
